Tutera’s Ilene Shapiro to Present at One of the Nation’s Largest Senior Care Events on November 3

Shapiro to address Tutera Senior Living & Health Care’s operational efficiencies to ensure the highest level of residential care for seniors at PointClickCare’s 2014 Summit

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (October 15, 2014) – Ilene Shapiro, vice president of IT and accounting information services for Tutera Senior Living & Health Care, will present on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at the PointClickCare Summit, one of the largest senior care events in North America. Shapiro’s presentation— “Saving Money, Saving Time: Using Eligibility Checking to Reduce Financial Risk”— will highlight Tutera’s successful rollout of its integrated software to ensure best-in-class operational efficiency in residential care for the company’s 47 facilities, communities and agencies in 13 states throughout the United States.

Shapiro is a 30-year industry veteran with expertise in developing and implementing accounting and IT systems for Tutera Senior Living & Health Care. “By partnering with Point ClickCare, Tutera is staying ahead of the curve,” said Joe Tutera, CEO of Tutera Senior Living & Health Care. “Ilene Shapiro will show the senior living industry how we’ve implemented the most innovative electronic records technology to carefully track and manage the care of our residents with immediate status updates from insurance providers, physicians, pharmacies, therapists and other health care providers.”

Shapiro, who is well versed in Medicare and Medicaid, will address the administrative challenges the industry faces to keep pace with change. “Regulations in the senior health care industry change almost daily,” said Shapiro. “It’s more critical than ever for Tutera and other multidisciplinary residential senior care providers to be equipped with technologies that enable the most current and accurate information to provide the highest quality of residential care while maintaining financial and operational efficiencies.”

Shapiro will present with Diana Hollihan, trainer and subject matter expert with PointClickCare, the leading cloud-based software platform for the senior care market. Shapiro serves on two PointClickCare national advisory councils, including the Business Informatics Committee, where she participates in reviewing key indictors senior living facilities are looking to monitor on dashboards, and the CRM Committee, where she advises in the development of inquiry referral and customer relations management systems for senior living residential admissions.

Shapiro joined Tutera Senior Living & Health Care in 1984 as a business manager at Plaza Manor, Tutera’s first senior community in Kansas City, Mo. Last year, Shapiro celebrated 30 years of service at Tutera where she now oversees Tutera’s accounting and IT operations for both corporate and community operations.

The PointClickCare Summit is one of the largest senior care events in North America. Attendees learn from the industry’s most influential thought leaders and experts. The 2014 Summit will be held Nov. 2-5 at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort.
